Vadodara, May 16: A tragic Vadodara oxygen cylinder blast claimed the life of a young worker in the Lakshmipura area on Saturday. The incident occurred during fabrication work in Radiyat Ba Nagar, where an oxygen cylinder suddenly exploded with a loud blast, causing one wall to collapse and triggering panic in the locality.
The deceased has been identified as Mukeshgiri, a youth who was working at the fabrication unit at the time of the accident. According to sources, Mukeshgiri sustained serious injuries in the Lakshmipura oxygen cylinder explosion and was immediately rushed to Gotri Hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries before medical help could save him.

Locals described the blast as extremely powerful. The sudden oxygen cylinder blast in Vadodara created chaos in the surrounding areas, and one wall of the structure collapsed due to the impact. No other casualties have been reported so far in this fabrication work accident.
Lakshmipura Police and the FSL team reached the spot immediately after the incident. Police have registered a case and started a detailed investigation into the cause of the Vadodara cylinder blast. Officials are also checking whether safety protocols were followed while handling the oxygen cylinder during fabrication work.
The incident has created fear among residents, with many raising concerns over safety standards in small fabrication workshops across Vadodara. This is not the first time such accidents have occurred in the city, and locals are demanding stricter checks on gas cylinder handling in industrial and fabrication units.
