Vadodara, January 18, 2026 — A courageous journalism student from Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU) has brought attention to a disturbing incident of alleged molestation and indecent exposure outside the university’s girls’ hostel, capturing the suspect on camera and sparking fresh calls for stronger police action.

According to a video report uploaded today by Nation Plus News, an unidentified man was reportedly standing semi-nude near the entrance of the MSU girls’ hostel, openly exposing his private parts while harassing female students. The accused is alleged to have been traveling in a vehicle bearing the registration number GJ06KM5840.

The brave student, studying in the Journalism department, confronted the perpetrator and recorded his objectionable behavior on her mobile phone. In the footage, she can be heard strongly condemning his actions and questioning how such incidents can occur in broad daylight in a city widely regarded as Gujarat’s cultural and educational hub.

The video highlights the student’s demand for immediate police intervention, urging authorities to trace and apprehend the accused using the clearly visible vehicle number. The report also references previous statements by Vadodara Police Commissioner Dr. Leena Patil regarding strict action against elements threatening women’s safety, underscoring the need to eliminate such “anti-social elements” from society.

This incident has reignited concerns about the safety of female students on and around the MSU campus. Women’s safety advocates and local residents have expressed outrage, calling for enhanced security measures, including increased CCTV coverage and regular patrolling in the vicinity of university hostels.

The video, which has already begun circulating on social media, credits an Instagram post by a user named Riyasi Chauhan as one of the original sources of the footage.

As of now, no official police complaint or arrest has been confirmed in connection with the incident, though the public availability of the vehicle number is expected to aid any investigation.

Police officials have not yet issued a statement regarding the matter, but student groups and women’s rights organizations are expected to press for swift action in the coming days.

The report emphasized that such brazen acts of harassment cannot be tolerated in Vadodara and called on viewers to share it to increase pressure on authorities.

Anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the accused is urged to contact the nearest police station or the Vadodara city police helpline.

Women’s safety remains a critical issue on university campuses across India, and incidents like this serve as a stark reminder of the urgent need for both preventive measures and prompt law enforcement response.
