Woman entrepreneur from Vadodara trying to revive ancient healing practices of Ayurveda


Recently launched Kids and Mother Hair Nourishment Oil approved by Ayush Department

Swati Vakharia, a woman entrepreneur in Vadodara is trying to revive the ancient healing practices of Ayurveda by giving a touch of modernization to it. She develops many oils under her brand to give a effective therapy to people using pure Ayurveda products. She recently lunched Kids and Mother Hair Nourishment Oil approved by Ayush Department which gives her the confidence to work more.

She also get loan under MSME and wish to spread her business. Moreover with an aim to empower women she has 90% staff of females working in her office and also wishes to guide the upcoming women startups in Vadodara.

It all starts during her pregnancy when she felt the side effects after delivery and valiantly search for a best product for her and new born baby. “I am facing hair fall and skin issues after my delivery and start searching for a best Ayurveda product for myself and new born daughter. I took advice from my cousin brother who is a Ayurvedic doctor and since then I started by business with an aim to revive the ancient healing practices which are slowly vanishing between the chemical world. My idea is to present Ayurveda in a modern way which appeal the people and they incline towards a pure natural way of healing for their problems,” said Swati.

She is the pioneer in introducing belly button oil therapy and till date launched 13 products under her brand. Her recent launch is for new born infants approved by the Aayush department of Government of India. “New born infants need a different type of oil as their scalp is so delicate. Hence they need a oil to nourish their scalp and hair without any side effects. With the same idea we launch Kids and Mother Hair Nourishment oil which is approved by the Aayush Department. It is pure in terms of ingredients and process and totally safe for the infants. I can say probably it’s the only natural oil available for them in the market,” said Swati. The oil is manufacturing in Himachal Pradesh.

Being women Swati also working on to empower other women by giving them job in her office and also extend support to other through various social initiatives under her foundation. “I has 90% women staff in my office as I feel comfortable working with them and also it helps them to stand on their own feet. Through Women Planet Foundation I am doing various activities like giving platform to them to showcase their talents and felicitate as part of motivation. Secondly under ‘Muskaan’ project we spread awareness in girls of rural areas in nearby villages regarding menstrual health and not skip schools during their periods. We try to increase their attendance by making them understand the precautions they need to take during this time of the month,” said Swati.

Being a entrepreneur she needs to scale up her business and get a 40 Lakh rupees loan after registered in MSME for her startup. She also attend IIM Bangalore initiate 10,000 Women program which help her in extending her business to new heights. She said the experience was amazing as she knows about scaling up her business by experts in the field and also get chance to interact with them. The experience will help in spreading her business.
