International Plastic Bag Free Day, celebrated on July 3, is a global initiative that aims to eliminate the use of plastic bags. Plastic bags may seem like a grocery shopping convenience, but they are also a huge strain on the environment.
On this occasion, CCF-Vadodara’s team came out in the major vegetable markets of the city- areas like Sama, Gorva, Karelibagh, Chhani, Sayajigunj, etc distributing cloth bags to customers/consumers. Also, educating the vegetable vendors to stop giving or encouraging the use of plastic bags and informing them the ban of single use plastics.
CCF abbreviation of Caravan Classroom Foundation is founded by Rajeshwari Singh, who is also known as the walking girl of Gujarat. The NGO has been actively engaged into activities educating and spreading awareness drives on plastic pollution via events, workshops. Rajeshwari Singh is also the founder and Director of Gujarat’s and Rajasthan’s first zero waste store that facilitates consumers to do a zero waste sustainable shopping for their daily essentials to natural beauty products, bamboo pulp sanitary napkins, bamboo toothbrush, straws, ear swabs, etc.
The message is very clear to the producers and consumers- it’s high time we wake up and take responsibility and be cautious about such steps.
Plastic Free July is a global movement that helps millions of people be part of the solution to plastic pollution so we can have cleaner streets, oceans, and beautiful communities.
