Study In China: Xiamen University Now Accepting Applications For 2025 PhD Fellowships

Applications are currently being accepted for the 2025 PhD Fellowships of the China Studies Program at Xiamen University (XMU) in China. For exceptional international students in the humanities and social sciences, this program offers a fantastic chance to pursue PhD study or research in China for free.

Two categories comprise the PhD Fellowships:

Ph.D. Fellowship for Joint Research: For PhD candidates studying in China who are enrolled in international universities.

Duration: One semester up to two academic years at most.

Chinese Ph.D. Fellowship: For those with master’s degrees who want to enrol in XMU’s complete PhD program.

Duration: Four years

Benefits of Scholarship:

The full Chinese government scholarship covers living expenses, housing costs, and tuition.

Reimbursement for annual round-trip international ticket (economy class).

Priority access to additional “China Studies Program” perks, including assistance with the publication of doctoral dissertations, possibilities for additional study, and attendance at international academic conferences.

Eligibility criteria:

Be in good health and not a Chinese citizen.

Not holding any other scholarships at the moment

Be committed to conducting social science and humanities studies on China.

Fulfil the prerequisites for linguistic proficiency: Collaborative Studies Fellowship for a Ph.D.: HSK Level 3 or higher.

HSK Level 5 with a minimum score of 210 is required for a Ph.D. fellowship in China.

Please take note that applicants to English-medium programs must also fulfil these Chinese language requirements.
