Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a roadshow in Vadodara on Monday morning upon his arrival in Gujarat for a two-day visit.

Family members of Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, known for her regular press briefings on ‘Operation Sindoor,’ joined an enthusiastic crowd in Vadodara to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Colonel Qureshi, a native of Vadodara, was accompanied by her parents, brother Mohammad Sanjay Qureshi, and sister Shyna Sunsara at the roadshow.

Prime Minister Modi received a grand reception upon arriving at Vadodara airport around 10 a.m., leading a 1-km roadshow to the Air Force station on the city’s outskirts. Crowds lined the route, waving tricolor flags and chanting slogans in support of the Indian Army and the Prime Minister, celebrating the success of ‘Operation Sindoor’ against Pakistan. Modi leaned out of his vehicle to greet the cheering supporters, while women in red sarees, symbolizing the operation’s namesake, showered him with flower petals.

During his two-day Gujarat visit, PM Modi is set to participate in public events in Dahod, Bhuj, and Gandhinagar, and inaugurate or lay foundation stones for development projects worth over ₹82,950 crore, according to an official release.

From Vadodara, the Prime Minister proceeded to Dahod, where he visited a railway locomotive manufacturing unit to launch the country’s first 9,000-horsepower locomotive engine, along with a locomotive manufacturing shop and rolling stock workshop, built at a cost of ₹21,405 crore. He then addressed a public gathering near Dahod town.

Later, in Bhuj, Kutch district, Modi inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 33 projects worth ₹53,414 crore, covering sectors like Kandla Port infrastructure, solar energy, power transmission, and road and building development.

In the evening, after arriving at Ahmedabad airport from Bhuj, the Prime Minister held a roadshow en route to Gandhinagar, where he stayed at Raj Bhavan. On Tuesday, he is scheduled to inaugurate and lay the foundation for projects worth ₹5,536 crore at the Mahatma Mandir convention centre in Gandhinagar, the release noted.
