Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Mandsaur police recovered 506 boxes of illegal liquor worth ₹50 lakhs being smuggled from Haryana to Gujarat in a three-layer vacuum tanker. The police then seized the tanker and the liquor and, arrested the accused driver on Monday.
The accused was identified as Gunesharam (28), son of Kalaram Jat and resident of Shriramwala district, Rajasthan.
The action was taken after the police received a tip-off that illegal liquor was being smuggled in a modified vacuum tanker. Acting swiftly, the police conducted a blockade at Nalcha Mata Phata and arrested the tanker’s driver.
During the interrogations, the accused driver told the police that the liquor was being smuggled from Haryana to Gujarat.
According to information, the police received a tip that illegal liquor was being smuggled in a modified vacuum tanker. The Naya Abadi police of Mandsaur district then conducted a blockade at Nalcha Mata Phata. During the blockage, the police seized a vacuum tanker and recovered 506 boxes of illegal liquor worth ₹50 lakhs. The liquor was nearly 6500 liters.

Reportedly, the liquor was being smuggled by hiding it in a three-layer tank. The police then seized the tanker and arrested the driver. During the investigations, the accused driver revealed that he only knew that the liquor had to be taken to Gujarat and he was given instructions after every two hours about further location.
The police also seized the mobile of the accused driver and trying to find out about who was behind the smuggling.
