Vadodara Harni Lake accident (Harni Boat Accident) has been the biggest revelation so far. The administrators of New Sunrise School did not take any permission from the DEO to take the children on a picnic and the administrators of the school themselves have accepted their mistake. The DEO office has launched a flurry of investigations after the school management admitted the mistake and questioned the teachers.
After the death of 12 children and 2 teachers in Vadodara’s Harani Lake boat accident, an inquiry was initiated against the school management. Finally, after an intensive police inquiry, the school management of New Sunrise School has admitted that they have made a mistake. It was admitted that no permission was taken from the District Education Officer to take the children on the trip and was negligent.
After admitting the mistake by the school administrators, the system has finally launched an investigation. Teachers will also be questioned by the DEO regarding travel approval. Further, cross verification of other such schools will also be started and the report will be handed over to the Collector.
It is worth mentioning that many times such gross and serious negligence is encountered by schools. In which the negligence of the system is revealed. According to the information, only 419 permits have been sought for travel in Vadodara in five years. Even though there are more than 500 schools in the city, schools do not take DEO’s permission for picnics. After this tragedy, when the system is going to take action against the management of the schools, people are raising questions against the DEO office procedure itself.
