According to police, a crude bomb explosion in Minakhan, North 24 Parganas, killed a nine-year-old child on Thursday. The event occurred Wednesday night at the home of the girl’s maternal uncle, who was detained Thursday in connection with it.

The dead was identified by the police as Sohana Khatun, also known as Jhuma, a Basanti native in South 24 Paraganas. When the explosion occurred, the girl had just picked up the homemade bombs from the kitchen’s loft.

“The girl believed that the house’s loft was where coconuts were stored. When she attempted to pick it up, it detonated when it hit the ground, according to a police officer. Sohana was transferred to Minakhan Rural Hospital, where medical staff pronounced her dead. According to Minakhan Sub-division Police Officer Aminul Islam, the residence was sealed following the event, and the entire family left the area. Under the appropriate provisions of the IPC and the Explosive Substance Act, police detained Abu Hossain Gayen, the girl’s uncle, after discovering crude bombs in the home. Locals asserted that Abu worked for the TMC, a charge that has been refuted by the organisation. “The party and Abu Hussain Gayen are not connected. Azizul Ghazi, regional president of TMC, remarked, “Let the police discover the truth.

In the previous 24 hours, there have been two bomb blast incidents in the state. Another crude bomb explosion resulted in the blowing off of a villager’s finger at Charka village in West Midnapore’s Keshpur when a bomb landed on him during a procession. While the TMC denied involvement in stock piling bombs in Bengal, the opposition BJP asserted that it was attempting to politicise all instances. Before the panchayat elections, people are stockpiling bombs.

According to BJP leader Dilip Ghosh, the state administration aims to instil fear so that it can win the elections. The CM has ordered to seize weapons and munitions, according to State Minister Firhad Hakim. The police’s drive to seize bombs and weapons has the opposition in a frenzy.
