Assam: Rivalry angle in Dibrugarh minor abduction murder  case

GUWAHATI: FEB 4: A rivalry angle has emerged in the abduction murder case of 4-year-old boy in Assam’s Dibrugarh.

Sources said due to rivalry between Dibrugarh police and cattle smuggler gang, the 4-year-old child lost his life.

Recently, Dibrugarh police has launched a massive crackdown against illegal cattle smuggling in Dibrugarh. Last year, Dibrugarh police arrested the notorious cattle smuggler Tiklo Khan.

“Due to rivalry between Tiklo Khan gang and police, the Tiklo Khan’s gang allegedly abducted the minor boy. They later killed him and dumped his body in a abandoned place in Dibrugarh town,” said a source.

Meanwhile, police have arrested one person in connection with the abduction and murder of the minor child.

On Friday morning,  a body of a 4-years-old child was found in an abandoned urinal in PWD colony near old high school field in upper Assam Dibrugarh on Friday morning.

According to police, a man saw the body covered with a cloth while going for urination.

It is to be mentioned that a child was abducted from Malipatty in the city on January 30.

The 4-years-old child was the son of Ranjit Bailung of Malipatty area, Dibrugarh.

A section of conscious people of Dibrugarh criticised police for their inaction against the abduction and murder of the minor.

“When the missing complaint was filed why police immediately not taken any action to search the minor kid. Due to their failure and competency the minor had to lost his life. The police has been very casual in their work and didn’t take step to find the kid after the CCTV footage,” alleged Arpana Borah, woman activist of Dibrugarh.

Police arrested one Suraj Karmakar in connection with the abduction and murder of the minor kid.
