Guwahati: On Friday, the Morigaon police arrested four person and recovered 386 ATM cards from their possession in Assam’s Morigaon district.
They has been identified as- Masud Ahmed(27), Mubarak Hussain(34), Saddam Hussain(29), and Taskir Ahmed(24).
A special team of police led by Additional superintendent of police(crime) Samiran Baishya conducted the raid and arrested four person under Mikirbeta police station in Morigaon on Friday.
Talking to reporters, Samiran Baishya said, “We have got an input and immediately launched an operation and arrested four persons and recovered 386 central Bank ATM cards from their possession. We have also recovered a cash of Rs 40,925 from their possession,”.
“We have seized a Wagnor car bearing registration no AS 01EY7385 where the four persons were traveling. After preliminary investigation, we have found that they have withdrawal cash using these ATM cards from Nagaon area,” said Baishya.
He further added, “Our investigation is at preliminary stage. We are verifying from where they have collected the ATM cards. We have started our interogation and very soon we will come to the conclusion of the case,”.
“We suspected the them to be linked with other networks. They have reveled that they had withdrew money from the ATMs while using the ATM cards,” he added.
