Assam: Bajrang Dal members tears down ‘Pathan’ posters in Guwahati

Guwahati: The activists of the Bajrang Dal on Friday stormed into Narengi’s LG Towers and forcibly pulled down posters promoting the upcoming movie “Pathan”.

Later, the posters were set on fire, dome furniture was broken. The activist in a loud voice chanted “Jai Shri Ram” and warned the cinema hall owners to screened the film.The members slogans against the movie and tore town posters of Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, who are the main lead character in the film.

“We won’t allow the cinema to released in our country because it was against our culture and and religion. If the cinema will be released in cinema hall’s across Assam then we will protest against the film,” a Bajrang Dal member said.

The controversy started after Madhya Pradesh home minister Narottom Mishra, made his objections to one of the songs of the movie Pathan, released as ‘Beshram Rang’.(EOM)
