No harassment over tax, no ‘raid raj’: Arvind Kejriwal’s assurance to Gujarat traders

Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party, provided 10 guarantees to Gujarati traders ahead of the Assembly elections scheduled for December 1. In the midst of a full-fledged campaign in Surat on Sunday, Kejriwal laid out his party’s pledges for traders.

Kejriwal assured traders that the AAP government would put an end to the climate of fear and permit traders to live respectable lives.

“Yesterday, one of our employees stopped by a roadside booth to purchase a snack. He asked the food vendor who he would be voting for when placing his order. BJP, the merchant stated. To eat, he sat there. After some discussion, the vendor declared that both he and his entire community would vote for “jhaadu.” Why did you before mention BJP, our employee questioned? I was afraid you might beat me after the vendor said he had a BJP-like appearance from the look on his face. The average person is so terrified that they are unable to declare their intentions “said Kejriwal.

1 “You may conduct business without worry because our government will put an end to this tense environment. We’ll put an end to this vandalism “declared Kejriwal.

2. You will be respected by our government. The huge dealers I’ve encountered claim that despite having made enormous profits, the tax authorities still treat them like crooks. You’ll be treated with respect by the government in every way. You are a hero in this country, he declared.

3. “We’ll put an end to the Raid Raj. In Delhi, “Raid Raj” has come to an end. No inspectors from any department are dispatched to raid the traders. I firmly believe that none of those who conduct raids actually go to collect taxes from merchants. They travel there to make money for themselves. We established the Delhi government in 2015, and our annual revenue at the time was Rs 30,000 crore. Traders do not want to be hassled by the government and prefer to pay their taxes on their own. Our revenue has reached Rs 75,000 crore after 7 years in power without the use of any raids,” he claimed.

“I now understand that the most urgent problem is trade fraud. Traders send their consignment, but they receive no compensation. Many traders filed for bankruptcy. We’ll introduce a special law to protect you from this. We’ll return your money. The problem with repayment is not unique to Surat or Gujarat, “said Kejriwal.

5 “Surat will serve as the nation’s garment capital, not just for Gujarat. We are going to create a fully export-focused integrated textile park. The nation will also earn money from exports in the form of dollars, “the head of the AAP said.

6 “There are no MSME benefits for traders. You are required to provide collateral when applying for a loan. We will ensure that you receive all MSME benefits and raise the loan ceiling from Rs. 25 lakh to Rs “said Kejriwal.

7 “GST has caused a lot of difficulties, particularly with its rates. Because the Central Government has the authority to set rates, we will bring up this issue before them. To address complaints or corruption issues during implementation, we will simplify it “said he.

Electricity, water, and sanitary facilities will all be provided by AAP, Kejriwal stated.

9. “We will lower the rates for dealers,” he stated, referring to the high electricity rates.

10. “In Delhi, we conducted an original experiment with doorstep service delivery. We have supplied the number 1076 so that you can call it if you need to get any job done by the Delhi government, such as applying for a licence or any other task. A voice will ask you what service you require. Gujarat will see the same implementation. You only need to take care of your business. We only desire your success. Kejriwal assured traders he spoke with in Surat earlier today that “We would take care of them, you can take care of your business.”
