4 FIRs filed in Gandhinagar under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita; total 7 across Gujarat


Gandhinagar: Today, the Gujarat police filed a total of 7 FIRs under the new criminal law Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which came into effect on the same day. According to Gujarat DGP Vikas Sahay, four of these FIRs were registered in Gandhinagar, the state capital.

The first FIR was lodged at Sector 7 police station against Vishal Rajput (19), who allegedly blocked the main entrance of the Sector-11 State Transport bus depot with his snacks handcart. The accused has been booked under BNS section 285, which is identical to IPC section 283. This section deals with causing danger, obstruction, or injury to any person in a public way or navigation line by any act or omission related to property under one’s control.

Two additional FIRs were filed under BNS section 285: one at Infocity police station against Dinesh Keshuram Gujjar (19), and another at Chiloda police station against Nikul Bihola (19).

Another FIR, under BNS Section 281, was filed against Dixitbhai Revabhai Parmar (42), a resident of Rajbhavan Staff Quarters and an auto driver, for dangerously driving his autorickshaw on a public way, endangering human life.
